Wooden Yarn Umbrella

Wooden Yarn Umbrella

If you buy yarn in hanks, you want to wind your yarn into skeins or balls to make it much easier to work with. And this is where a yarn swift comes in. A yarn swift is a practical tool that keeps your yarn in check while you wind the yarn into skeins or balls.

TIP: For extra easy winding, we recommend using a yarn winder. Sold separately.

This wooden yarn swift comes in a practical canvas storage bag that holds everything you need.

How to use a yarn swift:

  1. Attach – Attach the yarn swift to the edge of your table with the clamp to stabilize it.

  2. Place the yarn – Stretch the hank out in a circle and place it on the arms of the yarn swift.

  3. Open and lock – Lift the tightening screw to unfold the arms of the umbrella and tighten the screw to secure the position.

  4. Ready the yarn – Cut the little strands of yarn that hold the hank together and find the yarn end pointing out.

  5. Wind – Pull the yarn end to make the yarn swift spin, giving you a smooth winding experience.
